Guidelines for the School Uniform
To ensure that our students represent the school with pride and maintain a conducive learning environment, the following general dress code guidelines are implemented for both primary and high school students. These guidelines, commonly used by schools, are designed to promote discipline, unity, and focus among students.
Daily School Uniform
Students are required to wear the designated school uniform on all regular school days. The uniform typically includes a school shirt, trousers or skirt, Blazers and appropriate footwear.
Uniform Maintenance and Presentation
All uniforms must be clean, well-maintained, and properly fitted. Torn or excessively worn-out uniforms should be replaced.
Compliance and Encouragement
Students should wear closed-toe shoes or polished black shoes as part of the standard uniform. PE days require appropriate sports shoes.
Jewelry
Jewelry should be minimal and non-distracting. Typically, only simple items such as stud earrings or watches are allowed. Large or flashy items are discouraged for safety reasons.
Blazers/Suits
High school & Primary students, particularly class leaders or school cabinet members, may be required to wear blazers or suits on designated days (e.g., Tuesdays and Fridays).
Cultural or Traditional Dress
On special occasions or cultural days, students may be allowed to wear traditional or cultural attire with prior approval from the school administration.
Adherence
Students are expected to maintain good personal hygiene, including regular grooming, clean nails, and a fresh appearance. Deodorant is encouraged, especially for older students, to ensure personal hygiene in shared spaces.
Compliance
Students are expected to follow the dress code at all times. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, such as a warning or being sent home to change.
Parent Involvement
Parents are encouraged to support the dress code by ensuring that their children are properly dressed before leaving for school each day.
Medical Reasons
Students with medical conditions that require adjustments to the dress code (e.g., special footwear) should provide a note from a healthcare provider.
Footwear
On specific days, students must wear polished black shoes as part of their regular uniform. Black shoes symbolize formality and are typically worn during regular academic days, assemblies, and special events. White shoes are designated for days with physical education (PE), sports activities, or any other events that require a more casual and active dress code. These shoes are practical for physical activities, ensuring comfort and ease of movement. All shoes, whether black or white, must be clean, well-maintained, and in good condition. Worn-out or damaged shoes should be replaced promptly to uphold the school’s standards.
By adhering to this footwear dress code, students contribute to a disciplined and respectful school environment.
